Enterprise assessment application
The sumit app combines 3 serparte assessment applications to aggregate data into a single dashboard.
Each app is an assessment for a separate area of an prganizations IT landscape (DevOps, Zero Trust Security, SRE). It was designed to be used by pre-sales engineers over conference calls with client teams to help them understand their maturity and identify areas for improvement and track progress over time.
These are highly technical assessments and require alot of data entry. The main UX challenges were:
- How to best present the data of each assessment into it's own dashboard to give a detailed snapshot that is intuatively understandable.
- Add that data to an aggregated dashboard that shows the most relevant and important data in the sum-it app.
- Make the unavoidable data gathering aspect of the assessments as quick, easy, and painless as possible.
Ultimately the purpose off this app was to sell cheap assessments to potential clients, which would then lead to bigger projects. It suceeded quite well in this regard, but required a very specific and technical knowlege to be able to conduct the assessments. So when the CTO at the company (who was driving the initiative) left, the sum-it app stopped development and faded away as the company evolved.
